Welcome to the San José/Evergreen Community College District Foundation!
Did you notice? Community is our middle name!
We’re so proud of our community: instructors, counselors, administrators, support staff, volunteers, donors, district residents, and most of all our students and their families. Our chancellor, Rosa Pérez, often reminds us that “Education is a door that opens.” We are proud that our doors are open to all, literally and figuratively. We welcome all to cross our thresholds and experience the excellence that is a living expression of our mission.
Our theme at the Foundation for the 2008-2009 academic year is, “What is Possible?” We have only to look around at the faces on campus to sense the hope and determination that will lead our students to achieve their goals and we know that, with hard work, the answer is “Anything is Possible.”
Our Foundation was incorporated in 1982 to assist San José City College and Evergreen Valley College in their education mission by raising money for scholarships and supplementing state funding for college programs. Our vision is to see that every high school graduate in our community has the opportunity to obtain a college degree. It’s a tall order in times like these, but we know how important higher education is to parents, students, and employers, so we are searching for supporters who share our passion. We invite you to our bustling campuses to meet our students or to take a class yourself. Call or stop by the Foundation in Building 7 at the District Office any time to get to know us better.
Every day, we see our students overcome enormous challenges to realize the unimaginable, tame the intractable, and wrestle the impossible to create lives that are whole and meaningful.
What is possible? The possible is limited only by imagination.
Sincerely, |
